Embodying the Myth of Courage in Everyday Life

Why is it so hard to embody the Hero archetype in daily life?

Many of us try to be brave, selfless, farsighted… yet something feels off. We compare ourselves, push ourselves, collapse into frustration when we can’t keep up. Without realizing it, we may be trying to live out a version of the Hero that modern culture has quietly hijacked.

Today, the Hero myth is often reduced to a static image of success, an endpoint we’re supposed to “arrive” at. But this outer image strips the Hero of what makes it powerful: the inner fire, the tiny battles, the invisible struggles- all those things that require the heroic attitude along the way.

In this webinar, Rebecca Armstrong returns the Hero to its original meaning: a dynamic attitude, not a destination. Drawing on C. G. Jung and Joseph Campbell, she explores how the Hero can guide us toward presence and meaningful action… and how inflation and collapse happen when we chase the hijacked version of the Hero instead of the real one.

You’ll learn practical ways to engage the heroic attitude in ordinary life: setting intention, noticing when the archetype may be taking over, and watching for the Hero’s shadow- the Victim. Rebecca also shares simple practices of micro-mercies and micro-mendings, the subtle tools of Soul that restore humility, courage, and connection.

You will come away with a clearer, more grounded way to engage with the Hero; one that awakens real power and real passion in everyday life.
