Soccer is one of the most watched and loved games in the world. But what can it teach us about life?

On the pitch, everything is visible. How a player responds to pressure. How a team recovers from setback. Who steps forward in the decisive moment, and who shrinks. What top athletes know about performance, fear, flow, and the will to win turns out to apply far beyond the game itself.

Depth psychology asks additional questions. Why we play the way we do? What drives us, consciously and unconsciously? What we are really chasing when we chase gold. And what it would mean to realize our own deepest potential?

Each episode, three depth psychologists, of which one of them a former World Cup soccer player, gather around one theme from the game. Together, we follow it somewhere deeper. Into ambition and surrender. Courage and fear. Identity and what remains when the final whistle blows.

What do soccer and depth psychology teach us about the game of life? That is what The Golden Ball is about.
